Ok so today they have actually been waking Denise up for a few seconds at a time and letting us talk to her and then gauging her response. They said everything that they saw was very promising. The most encouraging news of the day was at one point she reached over and grabbed a nurse’s hand. The nurse asked her if she was in pain and she nodded her head yes. They said that was very encouraging because it showed she had some good brain function. After that they increased her drugs to help with the pain and she has not woken up since. They do keep reminding us that this is going to be a long and slow process so we just need be patient and keep praying. We did just find out that she has staff in her nose, but they said it should not affect her adversely. Here are the pictures of what we are calling “The Blob”.
